Full stack PHP/Laravel Developer
The Role
We are looking for a hard working mid-level Full Stack Developer to join our team. You will be the technical anchor for our digital products, taking ownership of maintaining and enhancing our pre-existing web applications.
This is a hands-on role perfect for a developer who enjoys stability, evolving their skillset and building out products. You won't just be churning out code; you will be maintaining critical systems that power our clients operations. You will work closely with our creative and PR teams to ensure our digital tools are functional, robust, secure, and user-friendly.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Optimisation: Take ownership of existing PHP/Laravel projects, performing regular updates, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
- Feature Development: Build new features and modules to support growing client needs, specifically utilising FilamentPHP for admin panels and internal tools.
- Full Stack Execution: Work across the entire stack, from database management (MySQL) to front-end UI updates (HTML, CSS, JS).
- Quality Assurance: Troubleshoot issues reported by the team or clients and implement long-term tests and fixes.
- Collaboration: Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders (PR managers, creatives) and work as a reliable team player.
Requirements…
Essential Skills:
- PHP & Laravel: Strong commercial experience with modern PHP (8.x) and the Laravel framework.
- Front-End: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript.
- Database Management: Experience designing and optimising MySQL databases.
- Version Control: Comfortable using Git for version control.
- Attitude: A hard worker with a "can-do" mindset who focuses on finding solutions, not just identifying problems.
Desirable (Beneficial Skills):
- FilamentPHP: Experience building admin panels or tools using Filament is highly preferred.
- The TALL Stack: Experience with TailwindCSS, Alpine.js, and Livewire would be a significant advantage.
- Server Management: Basic knowledge of Linux server administration or deployment processes (e.g., GitHub CI/CD processes).
About You
- Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment and are happy to support colleagues.
- Hard Working: You take pride in your work and are willing to go the extra mile to ensure a project is delivered to a high standard.
- Communicates well: You’re able to communicate efficiently with your colleagues and clients and interpret client requirements into an effective task list.
- Automotive Interest: You don't need to be a "petrolhead," but an appreciation for the automotive industry is a bonus!
Benefits
- Competitive Salary DOE
- Hybrid Working: We offer a balance of three days in our Buckingham office and two days working from home.
- Health: Private Health Care scheme.
- Holiday: 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays.
